Chop and change - June 2010 edition
In early 2009 I dramatically changed my hairstyle. After 20+ years of keeping it extra-long and feathered, I cut it down to shoulder length.
It's been a year, and now that I'm cycling to work, I'm interested in trying a few styles out to see which recovers the easiest from the "helmet-hair" effect.
So I decided to try a style out that I adore on some other people but have never had the guts to try on my own.
Here's me this morning, before the cut (sound the MySpace trumpets!):

I like this style, but it's time to try the next one... this is the image I brought my hairdresser to show her what I wanted;

"It's cute, a little pixie-ish, and...probably okay for my face shape," I thought to myself as I handed my head over to the hairdresser for the next hour. We decided to match the two-dye colouration as well, although I went for chocolate and a deep red rather than the blonde/brown in this picture.
This is what she came up with;
It passes the silly expression test, which is good as I have those on a lot.
I'm pretty happy with it, but it will take me a few days to get used to the new style. I have not had a fringe for 14 years, so... hi, fringe. How are you? Soft and bouncy? Excellent. I think we'll get along okay.
